STOPPERS
CRIME OF THE WEEK
1/23/09
The
Brazoria County Sheriff’s Office is seeking the public’s help in
identifying the person or persons responsible for taking a bronze
memorial statue valued at approximately $5000.00 from the grave of
Philip Cody Ford. Cody was killed in action on December 10, 2006.
Captain Chris Kincheloe advised that some time late last week thieves
went to the Gulf Prairie Cemetery located in Jones Creek and hauled away
a battle cross that topped the slain soldier’s grave site. The battle
cross consisted of Philip Cody Ford’s dog tags, his bronzed jump boots,
bronzed assault rifle and bronzed helmet just like the one he wore while
in Iraq. The bronze base which supported the battle cross was also
taken.
